CEO and Scientific Head

Klaus-Peter Adlassnig, professor of medical informatics, is head of the Section for Medical Expert and Knowledge-Based Systems at the Center for Medical Statistics, Informatics, and Intelligent Systems, Medical University of Vienna, Austria. The research and development results at this section include formal, method-oriented as well as practical, healthcare-oriented work in medical knowledge representation and processing, medical expert systems, and clinical decision support. In the last few decades, several results of such research were put into practice. This was done at the university clinics of the Medical University of Vienna, and its main teaching hospital, the Vienna General Hospital.

Professor Adlassnig was a research fellow and visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley, U.S.A, the Technical University of Graz, Austria, the Stanford University, U.S.A., the Meiji University, Japan, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), U.S.A. In the course of his professional life, he acquired a deep understanding of medicine and the cognitive and administrative processes involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients. He also realized the immense benefit of "intelligent" software support that can become effective in all fields of medicine.

Professor Adlassnig is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, as well as the co-founder, CEO, and Scientific Head of Medexter Healthcare. The purpose of this company is to introduce the gained results of research and development globally in a broad and extensive manner.
