Implementation Guide for Arden Syntax
An Implementation Guide for Arden Syntax, Release 1 was written by HL7 International’s Arden Syntax Work Group and approved for publication by HL7 International. The guide’s objective is to help knowledge engineers, clinicians, administrators, computer programmers and others to use the Arden Syntax to create clinical decision support (CDS) solutions. It includes instruction on how to represent different kinds of knowledge using medical logic modules (MLMs) (e.g., alerts/reminders, decision tables, flowcharts, clinical test result monitoring, public health surveillance), MLM templates and examples, as well as background material such as references to related scientific literature. Medexter regularly participates in the Arden Syntax Work Group and co-authored the implementation guide.
